Season XXV Preview

Date:    Wednesday, November 11, 2015

In the summer of 1992, the sport of polo had an auspicious awakening in Newport, its American birthplace, after laying dormant for most of the foregone 80 years.  A newly-laid playing field at Glen Farm awaited an international lineup of 6 challengers starting with Ireland, which would become a perennial fan favorite over the course of the next quarter century. Since that hallmark year, teams from over 30 nations and burgeoning audiences have filled the polo stadium, making the Newport International Polo Series an annual summertime tradition. The 25th anniversary season is set to open on June 4th, 2016 with an exciting lineup of teams, new events and great additions to the polo grounds. Here’s what to expect in 2016.

  • Special Edition 25th Anniversary Publications
  • Team Debuts
  • First All-Charity Match on Sunday, July 17, 2016
  • Unique Opportunities and New Special Events
  • New and Expanded Pro Shop, Plus Limited Edition Anniversary Apparel
