This season, we launched our new Claddagh Charm Bangle benefiting Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. In celebration of this launch, the Boston Celtics teamed up with us to honor the partnership and share the excitement with fans during the Celtics vs. Hawks game.
As part of the evening’s festivities, SVP of Culture and Community, Nicki Maher, took part in a pre-game interview with the DraftKings to talk about the launch of the new Claddagh Charm Bangle, and also what it means to be partnered with such an amazing community like the Boston Celtics.
At halftime, Shamrock Foundation was presented with a check totaling $645,000, the donations from the Celtic Knot Charm and Kindred Cord Shamrock. Additionally, a lucky row was selected to win the new Claddagh Charm Bangle. Team (+) Impact was also on hand to further support the Shamrock Foundation through the 50/50 raffle. We are proud to announce our volunteers were able to raise $4,545!

Low-income students and their families who lack digital literacy skills and an internet connection at home struggle to keep pace with their peers in the classroom, as nearly all students (96.5 percent) say they are required to use the internet to complete homework assignments outside of school.* Today Cox Communications and the American Library Association (ALA) announced a new partnership that will strengthen and expand Cox’s commitment to connecting low-income students and their families with technology, providing a stronger foundation for success in the classroom, in continuing education and in job opportunities. Through this new partnership, more low-income families will have access to digital literacy training and resources in their local libraries and online at www.digitallearn.org.
In addition to a pilot program of enhanced digital literacy training and resources for families and library patrons, rolling out in Tucson, Arizona, Topeka, Kansas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the Cox Connect2Compete program offers discounted internet service for families with at least one K-12 student living in public housing, qualifying for a free or reduced school lunch through the National School Lunch Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). According to a 2015 Cox survey, more than half of students are more interested in school and have improved grades after enrolling in Connect2Compete. Families enrolled in Connect2Compete also have free access to more than 500,000 Cox WiFi and Cable WiFi hotspots across the country, in cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Stella Artois and National Geographic announce Crystal Moselle’s documentary “Our Dream of Water” – a film spotlighting the effects of the global water crisis, making its world premiere on National Geographic on March 22 at 6:00 p.m. EST/PST in celebration of World Water Day. The documentary was commissioned by Stella Artois as a part of the “Buy A Lady A Drink” campaign, an ongoing partnership with Water.org to help provide clean water for people in the developing world. The film will debut during an exclusive showing at the Metrograph Theater tonight in New York City.
Directed by 2015 Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner Crystal Moselle, “Our Dream of Water” focuses on the stories of women in Haiti, Peru and Kenya and their daily struggle to find clean, safe water. Their stories are representative of the 663 million people around the world who lack access to safe water, to help raise awareness of the global water crisis. We wanted to offer our residents ways to explore and learn new things about themselves, others – and the world in general. Inspired by them and their 1.8 million combined years of experience, we created The Wisdom of Curiosity – a book and planner that provides the framework for an entire year’s worth of meaningful opportunities.
