The Newport Polo Club welcomes nominations of nonprofit civic or charitable organizations for consideration as the beneficiary for its 18th annual charity gala, on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, in one of Newport’s famed mansions. Each year the Newport Polo Club selects a new beneficiary to support with the fundraising efforts of the gala.
Nominations should be submitted via email to email@example.com and must include information to satisfy the following criteria for consideration by the gala committee, on behalf of the Polo Club: the nonprofit organization is required to have an active local volunteer corps to serve on the gala auction committee; it must be a 501c3, and additional consideration will be given to the nonprofit's relevance or impact on our community and to the timeliness of need & mission.
Newport’s summer polo season reached its social climax in 2017 with Gala la Bamba, the 17th annual International Polo Charity Ball where generous and fun-loving attendees turned out in Mexican-inspired Black Tie for a night of exquisite food, dancing, and heart-warming philanthropy, to welcome guests of honor, the Mexican polo team and gala beneficiary, Newport's restored Opera House Theater & Performing Arts Center, raising over $32,000 to be doubled by a matching grant, helping the project stay on course for its grand reopening within the next year. Newport Polo has raised over $1,366,880 for civic and charitable organizations.
