Newport’s polo season will reach its social climax this summer with the 18th annual International Polo Charity Ball, Midnight in Marrakesh, hosted by the Newport Polo Club on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Rosecliff, one of Newport's famed Bellevue Avenue mansions.

The annual sell-out event draws nearly 400 generous and fun-loving attendees to make a red carpet entrance in colorful Moroccan black tie adaptation for a night inspired by Moroccan culture from fashion & accessories, to lively rhythms, exquisite gourmet cuisine & mixology and heart-warming philanthropy, welcoming international guests of honor, the Moroccan Polo Team, and supporting the 2018 beneficiary, SAVE THE BAY’s mission to protect and improve Narragansett Bay

Since 1970, Save The Bay has been dedicated to conserving our community’s most precious resource, Narragansett Bay.   Save The Bay has developed a committed constituency for the Bay, and has watched over the activities and programs of the government and the citizenry that degrade the environmental quality of the Bay, basin, and watershed.  Save The Bay provides educational opportunities for children and adults to explore the Bay, fostering an understanding and a sense of personal responsibility for the resource.  Through vigorous advocacy, the Bay, once choked by raw sewage and dying a slow death from industrial toxins, is now making a strong comeback.

The much anticipated evening will begin with a pre-gala Cocktail Meet & Greet with the Moroccan Polo Team, then on to the main event at the famed Rosecliff mansion, where an enchanting panorama of gardens and twilight ocean views will be eclipsed by enticing hors d'oeuvres, specialty themed cocktails, and highly anticipated Silent Auction display in which a carefully curated collection of unique items and exclusive opportunities will be offered for the highest bidder.  Guests will adjourn for a seated gourmet dinner where live musical entertainment will set the tone, and a whirlwind Live Auction will offer up the night's crown jewels.  Under the spell of the orchestra, desserts and dancing will ensue til the stroke of midnight.
