Pro Shop Manager
Newport Polo's Pro Shop Manager plays a key role in overseeing its retail boutique, signature produce
line and sales staff at its high-traffic event marketplace, in a newly constructed retail space June
through September, Saturdays noon-8pm, plus Friday 5-7pm.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervise 3-4 person Pro Shop sales team Complete register sales and provide customer service by
greeting customers, assisting with transactions, and responding to customer inquiries.
- Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and assistance
- Manage inventory levels, oversee restocking, and initiate re-ordering Generate weekly inventory
and sales report in end-of-day procedure
- Maintain store cleanliness Opening procedures including register and cash drawers, setting up
merchandise displays and promotional signage
- Maintain point-of-sale terminals including software, peripherals and accurate product
information
- Oversee receiving of new merchandise, including unpacking, counting, inspection, tagging,
displaying and storage Train new sales associates as needed
- Oversee drawing of polo match door prize Non-essential Responsibilities: Assist with
merchandising, pricing and store layout
- Contribute to promotional campaign strategies
Skills Required:
- Intermediate Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, calculate discounts.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, Email, Shopkeep Point of Sale (will receive training), and
mobile point of sale applications (will receive training)
- Excellent oral and interpersonal skills Professional and outgoing attitude, for customer service
and staff supervision; team
- Physical & Environmental Considerations: Responsibilities involve standing for register and
sales assistance; walking at venue; use of hands for computer, handling of retail products,
display/restocking; clear vision for close range and distance, ability to see in color. Outdoor
conditions on Saturdays; in the presence of customers in busy, populated live event.

Hours & Availability: Part-Time Weekend Position, June through September,
Saturdays noon-8pm, plus Friday 5-7pm;
