Rafaelian, founder of Alex and Ani. Combining new world design with old world
craftsmanship, she has built a company that is not only its own success story, but it constantly
gives back by reinvesting in the community and creating alliances with other businesses in the
state.
At the core of her success is the mantra that every individual has a positive message to share with the world. The native Rhode Islander believes it is her life’s work to support communities and organizations while inspiring others.
While raising 3 daughters of her own, Rafaelian has taught generations to discover meaning in their lives and empower them with individuality, a refreshing counter-culture that renews wholesome & timeless ideals.
Rafaelian’s company, Alex and Ani has been a significant partner, both in Newport Polo’s Positive Energy Polo Lounge since its inception, and through a partnership to construct the Alex and Ani Pavilion, to replace the structure that was destroyed by fire in 2011.
We are deeply grateful for her partnership with the Newport International Polo Series and salute Carolyn Rafaelian with the 2013 Silver Pony Award for the role that Alex and Ani has played to ensure the longevity and vitality of the sport of polo here in its American birthplace.
